SCRAPBOOK 101 with Jennifer Hottinger-Sloan

Join Jennifer in this 2.5 hour class where she will review the basic tools needed for this hobby, teach you simple graphic design elements, explain the importance of journaling the stories behind pictures and guide you through basic embellishment.  All supplies to complete a 2-page layout, other than those listed, will be supplied, including a detailed handout to keep for future reference.

Scrapbook 101

Course includes the following topics:

  • Scrapbooking Basics
  • Design Building Blocks
  • Journaling Tips
  • Finishing Touches

Students are required to bring the following to class:

  • 4 to 7 photos (4×6 or 6×4)
  • Paper trimmer
  • Scissors
  • Adhesive (wet and dry)
  • Black archival journaling pen
  • Pencil and eraser

Time: 9:30 am to 12:00 pm (2.5 hrs)
Cost: $12.50

Jennifer Hottinger-Sloan

Jennifer Hottinger-Sloan is a dedicated paper-crafter and mixed media artist.  She has been crafting most of her life, with the last 13 years being dedicated to the scrapbooking industry.

She is a self-described paper and embellishment addict who has been a part of many design teams.  She has worked for manufacturers, scrapbook stores, magazines, blogs and websites, including Creative Scrapbooker Magazine (formerly Canadian Scrapbooker), Susan K. Weckesser, Kelly Panacci, Scraptivity!, Just Cre8 and Pointers Scrapbooking.  Jennifer’s studio and paper creations have both been featured in Creative Scrapbooker Magazine.

Recently, Jennifer accepted a DT assignment with Canvas Corp Brands LLC, who own Canvas Corp, Tattered Angles and 7gypsies.  She is regularly seen milling around at scrapbooking events demonstration techniques, assisting teachers and participating in creative endeavours.
